Needs for grants

The Luxembourg Institute for Global Financial Integrity (LIGFI) is an independant nonprofit association that is primarily funded by membership dues in the form of initial one-time member fees and annual member fees. Such dues are inadequate to fully support the actions and activities of LIGFI in its role of Center of Excellence and Forum for all stakeholders of the global financial sector.

Grants are welcome in both money and kind. They may be accorded to support the general functioning of LIGFI or target actions or activities of the nonprofit association like an event or a research project.

Grants are accepted with the understanding that the provider of the grant acquires no influence over LIGFI's actions or activities. Grants may in fact be turned down if the Board of Directors, in consultation with the Board of Regents, considers them to pose a conflict of interest to LIGFI.

Grants are sought from both government and nongovernment bodies. They will be covered in LIGFI's Corporate Governance Charter and posted on LIGFI's website with a description of the grant provider, the amount of the grant ant the grant's purpose and use. Disbursements of grants will be detailed in LIGFI's annual report for approval by members at the Annual General Meeting.
